With all other things being equal if you could go out to watch a movie on a medium sized screen or a massive screen, which would you choose?

Your answer is obvious (and assumed)…

You'd naturally go with the bigger screen because the experience is much more immersive.

So now, when someone asks us here at Kawartha TV and Stereo why they should opt for a home theatre projector system over a television we immediately give them one reason…

Size.

Even if you were to go out and find yourself a monster television, which would currently be about 85 inches (and that is a BIG television), most home theatre projector systems will have them beat hands down.

When you consider that even a smaller home projector screen can easily be 100 inches in size (with bigger ones that can run into the 160 or even 165 inch range), the size difference is more than extreme.

But reading and seeing are two very different things, and the previous sentence doesn’t really give you the full picture of what the impact of this really is.

To fully appreciate the difference that is say a 80 inch screen next to say a 165 inch home theatre screen, you need to see them in person. It is at that point that you truly appreciate the size difference, and it is a staggering one.

By any comparison, there is no comparison.

Another undeniable benefit that home theatre projection systems offer over big screen TV's is price. They simply offer way more bang for the buck.

A couple of relatively recent technological advances have also made home theatre projection systems even more accessible.

As you likely know, home theatre systems are still basically comprised of two units. One part is the projector and the second part is the screen itself.

When it comes to the projector, traditionally it has had to be mounted on the ceiling. Now, there is new projector technology that is called laser ultra short throw projectors.

These allow you to set up the projector mere inches from the wall and yet they still manage to produce up to a one hundred and thirty inch image!

On the screen side of things, technological advances have not stood still here either.

You no longer require them to be in windowless dark rooms.

This has been a game changer because not every home has a dark theatre orientated room available.

Projectors now offer higher brightness levels and there are screens with Ambient Light Rejection material.

So next time you are out, pop into Kawartha TV and Stereo and we’ll show you the real difference a home theatre can offer!
