Sonos is renowned for its high quality speakers and the sound they provide, but the third generation of Sonos speakers, being the Dolby Atmos ERA 300 speakers are on an entire other level!
The first thing you will undoubtedly notice in the ERA 300 speakers are their design. They’re gorgeous and a net positive aesthetically to your home. As anyone with any appreciation of design or style quickly finds out, the design any styling of most available speaker systems range from grim to borderline acceptable, so the ERA 300 is a definite something that takes what is often lacking in speakers and makes a dramatic difference in your home.
Now lets talk about the sound. Not surprisingly (this is Sonos we’re discussing…) the sound is brilliant!
As mentioned in the name, they offer Dolby Atmos and spacial sound thanks in part to its 6 front as well as its side sound drivers (which brilliantly help separate sound for more clarity). The ERA 300 even has an upward firing speaker which bounces sound off the ceiling providing sound from wall to wall and floor to ceiling. All of this combines to allow the ERA 300 to help immerse you in every dimension of the song (or movie). It virtually places you in the middle of, or perhaps surrounded the music and sound.
In our opinion the ERA 300 the best spatial audio from any standalone speaker.
If you pair two speakers you effectively supercharge the Dolby Atmos and basically create an all-encompassing soundstage.
But this isn’t the end of the benefits that ERA 300 offers. They allow you the option to use either bluetooth or wi-fi connectivity, and on top of this the ERA 300 system can even be integrated with any other Sonos speakers you already own.
Finally for today, keeping with the ever-present need to maintain privacy, the ERA 300 even has a simple flip switch to turn its microphone off.
