December 25 (aka: Christmas) happens each and every year, and consistent with this, scores of people scratch their heads as they try to determine the ideal gift for family and loved ones.

As we move towards Christmas 2023 (hey, it's never TOO soon to start your planning) we'd like to share a few tips for getting the perfect technology related gift for Mothers, Fathers, Daughters, Brothers or anyone else you have to buy for.

  • Upgrade based on their interests: What is your recipient interested in? Can you upgrade something they already have with the newest, latest and greatest. Even if you find replacing their current headphones with a newer better set a bit pointless (or excessive), to an audiophile, they’ll likely be thrilled with that upgraded gift!
  • Appreciate how "tech-savvy" they actually are: While some people are always on the hunt for cutting edge tech, others want more tried, true and straightforward. Highly tech-orientated people don't want basic products and less tech-orientated people often don't want complex products. As marketers would say, "know your target market".
  • Find out about their ancillary components: Often technology works with complimentary products. Try to determine what they have and what will be used along with your gift so you can match accordingly. This often becomes more of an issue when you get someone something below their existing equipment arsenal. So for example giving someone who has a small fortune invested in their sound system some mid level speakers probably won't thrill them like you hope it will.
  • Snoop: If all else fails, make notes on the specific tech related equipment they have and bring that note to Kawartha TV and Stereo. Since we are among the ultimate tech orientated people you’ll ever meet, even if we just see what the person has we can come up with many suggestions.

Having said all of that, here are some specifics that are always popular…

If you have a music lover on your list headphones are a great gift idea. There are so many headphone variations such as on ear, over ear, ear buds and in ear, all of which serve a different need… so even if someone already has a pair of headphones, they could probably benefit from having a different type.

Dyson cordless vacuums. They are built to last, have incredible suction, use hepa filters and are just easier to use than a regular vacuum. People actually enjoying vacuuming when they use a Dyson.

Finally for those hard to buy for people who have everything, what about a car dash cam. From potentially proving your innocence in the event of an accident, or helping if your vehicle is ever stolen or vandalized they are great gifts.
